Urban Assembly School for Global Commerce dedicates classroom to board chair

At the Urban Assembly School for Global Commerce’s first-ever parent-teacher night last week, the school also dedicated a classroom to a city official who helped steer it into existence.

Andrew Genn, a member of the city’s Economic Development Corporation, chairs the school’s career and technical education advisory board. The board’s support helped give rise to the new school, which is focused on the booming industries of freight logistics and supply chain management, or shipping.

Eric Dryden, the school’s partnership coordinator, sent over this photo, which features Principal Erin Gehant, Genn, students, school officials, and a representative of City Councilwoman Inez Dickens, all of whom attended the dedication. The school is housed inside the Choir Academy of Harlem campus.
