Chancellor Walcott plans to visit I.S. 141 in Queens this morning. to commemorate the anniversary of 9/11. Public Advocate Bill de Blasio, who holds the lead in the primaries and is waiting to hear if he will face a run off, will attend the 9/11 anniversary ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial Plaza this morning.
In years past, we wrote about the city launching a new 9/11 curriculum that would teach elementary school students about bravery and high school students about Islamist extremism. We also wrote about educators’ role in responding to the crisis that day.
