Panel: What education reform means for students

Education Reform: What does it mean for students and teachers?

The push for education reform continues, along with high-stakes testing, results-based pay and more charter schools, promising better education for poor children and their parents. Yet it is still not clear that these schools have done much to deliver on their promise. Should we increase support and hope for better results or get behind struggling public schools and their teachers? Can we do both?

Speakers:

Leo Casey, Albert Shanker Institute, United Federation of Teachers

Jamie Fidler, Movement of Rank and File Educators (MORE), public school teacher and parent

Victoria Miller, Alliance of Charter School Teachers & Staff (ACTS-UFT)
