The White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans

The White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans, in collaboration with LaGuardia Community College and CUNY, are hosting a community conversation on Monday, August 31st.  This is part of a series of national sessions the White House Initiative is holding and will involve education leaders who are committed to improving Latino education attainment from early childhood education through college.  These open sessions will allow individuals or groups like yours to shape the White House Initiative.

There will be two sessions at LaGuardia Community College on August 31st and you can choose to attend either the 9:00 AM to 10:30 session or the 10:45 to 12:15 session.  See the attached invite for more information and contact Liz Carrillo at lcarrillo@lagcc.cuny.edu to RSVP.

This session will provide you with an opportunity to voice your thoughts in two areas:

1) how Latino education attainment can and should be improved, and
2) what the White House Initiative should be doing.

Te information gleaned from these sessions will be recorded and collected and will serve as the foundation for the new presidential executive order that will govern the White House Initiative and will be signed by President Barack Obama.
