New York City teachers returned to school Tuesday and were busy with meetings and classroom prep ahead of Wednesday’s first day of classes. But many made time to share their excitement about the 2018-19 school year on Twitter, following the lead of Chancellor Richard Carranza.
Here are a few that caught our attention:
My Co-Teacher, Mrs. Lisnow, and I can’t wait to meet our kids tomorrow. Here is a sneak peak at our morning handshake. Each student will personalize their own handshake with us. #teachergoals #RelationshipGoals #BackToSchoolNYC @PS22si @SIBFSC @District31R @NYCSchools pic.twitter.com/ESFh7tZQxd— Desiree Stuckey (@DesireeStuckey1) September 4, 2018

Good morning, my people. First day of school and coffee on deck. Morning meetings, but I’d rather be cleaning my classroom.— José Vilson knows. (@TheJLV) September 4, 2018
I’m learning to let go again, to bring back my patience and agility. To love with whole heart.
