Over the past decade, Brooklyn has experienced a cultural, industrial and real estate renaissance so profound GQ has called it “the coolest place on the planet.” The borough is leading the way with an influx of technology start-ups, foodie hot-spots and its first NBA and NHL teams.But the image the world has of Brooklyn doesn’t always align with the reality that many parts of the borough remain untouched by the success story. At 10%, Brooklyn’s unemployment rate is above the city and national average and a third of the borough’s children live in poverty.Explore Schools and the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce are co-sponsoring an exciting panel event that will explore how we can harness the power of our educational and business communities to ensure success for all students in Brooklyn.
