Cuomo names new deputy secretary for education

Ian Rosenblum, an official in Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s administration since last year, is now Cuomo’s deputy secretary for education and economic opportunity.

Rosenblum has been a key engine of the state’s efforts to replicate Pathways in Technology Early College High School, a much-hyped Brooklyn school, according to the state’s press release.

“His experience and deep commitment to education reform and balanced economic growth makes him very well prepared for this new opportunity,” said Stanley Litow, the head of IBM International Foundation, said in a statement. IBM helps operate P-TECH and Litow has been involved in the model’s replication locally and nationally.
