Voices from the 2013 high school search: Diego Lacayo

Diego Lacayo, an energetic 12-year-old, has his eyes set on the Academy for Careers in Television and Film as his first-choice high school.

“When I grow up, I want to be in front of the camera and behind the camera. I watch TV everyday,” he said before his father jokingly told him to calm down.

He listed actor and journalist as a few of the many careers he wants to pursue.

He’s unsure what he’ll do if he doesn’t get in to his top choice. “I’ll be so angry if they don’t accept me,” he said.

His mother encourages him to not be disappointed. “Look we’re looking at other schools as well,” she said as she point to their list of schools he’s applying to.
