DL21C Forum: School Closures and Co-Location

Over the past decade, the New York City school system has focused its reform efforts on strong accountability systems and increased school choice options, among other tools. While there have been signs of success, some argue that this approach has come at the cost of meaningful community input and a highly-polarized battle over scarce amounts of money and space.

Join NY1‘s education reporter Lindsey Christ and two leaders in the heart of this battle: Marc Sternberg, the Deputy Chancellor of the city’s school system who has been the architect of the school closures and charter colocations, and Deputy Majority Leader Leroy Comrie, who has led successful fights against both.
