City Council hearing: Education Budget

The City Council’s Education Committee, chaired by Council Member Robert Jackson, will be holding a hearing on the Mayor’s Fiscal Year 2013 Preliminary Budget and the FY 2012 Preliminary Mayor’s Management Report for the Department of Education on March 27th.  Below is information regarding the preliminary expense budget hearing:

This hearing will examine the Mayor’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2013 Preliminary Budget and the FY 2012 Preliminary Mayor’s Management Report for the Department of Education.  FY 2013 Preliminary Budget projections can be found on the New York City Office of Management and Budget (OMB) website at http://www.nyc.gov/html/omb/html/publications/finplan02_12.shtml. The FY 2012 Preliminary Mayor’s Management Report can be found athttp://www.nyc.gov/html/ops/downloads/pdf/mmr/0212_mmr.pdf.

 

We invite members of Community Education Councils, parents, students, educators, advocates, and all other stakeholders and interested members of the public to testify at this hearing.  Testimony will be limited to 2-3 minutes per person to allow as many as possible to testify.  Please make sure you fill out a witness slip on the desk of the Sergeant-at-arms if you wish to testify.  If you plan to bring written testimony, please bring at least 20 copies.
