Panel: Learning Time & Science Education

Join TASC and the National Center on Time and Learning for an event to explore with local and national leaders how to improve science education by expanding learning time. The discussion will include findings of a new report, “Strengthening Science Education: The Power of More Time to Deepen Inquiry and Engagement,” which features five elementary and middle schools (including Thurgood Marshall Academy Lower School in Harlem, an ExpandED School) that have leveraged the power of time to transform the teaching—and learning—of science. Attendees are invited to view the museum’s “Creatures of Light” exhibit. Speakers include Policy Analyst Kumar Garg of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and Ron Ottinger of Noyce Foundation.
