Film About Khalil Gibran Academy

A screening of Intifada NYC, a video about what happened to Khalil Gibran International Academy, the first Arabic dual language public school in NYC. A discussion will follow the screening with Debbie Almontaser, educator and founding principal of KGIA who was forced to resign as a result of an anti-Muslim campaign against her and the school, Mona Edlahry, former steering committee member of Communities in Support of Khalil Gibran Int’l Academy (CISKGIA) and Donna Nevel, former steering committee member of CISKGIA, who teaches Participatory Action Research (PAR) at NYU/Steinhardt.
