Panel Discussion: Teacher Preparation

Educators 4 Excellence hosts “The Future of Teacher Prep,” a panel discussion exploring the positive impact of proper teacher training on classroom effectiveness and student achievement.

Moderated by Lindsey Christ, NY1 Education Reporter, the panel will focus specifically on the role that schools of education play in elevating the teaching profession and driving change in the education reform debate. E4E representatives will join local teachers and administrators, policymakers and other community leaders in a panel discussion incorporating real-time live-polling technology to gather instant feedback from teachers in attendance.

On the panel:

David Steiner, Dean of the Hunter College School of Education;
Maritza Macdonald, Senior Director of Education and Policy at the American Museum of Natural History;
Bob Hughes, President of New Visions for Public Schools;
Mayme Hostetter, Dean of the Relay School of Education; and
Kathryn Hayes, Partner in Program Evaluation at the New Teacher Project
