DOE's Eric Nadelstern meets with principals

Eric Nadelstern will meet with NYC public school principals who are alumni or current participants in Teachers College’s Cahn Fellows program. Nadelstern oversees instructional and operational support to New York City’s 1500 public schools. He has also served Chief Executive Officer for Empowerment Schools, a citywide district reform initiative serving 500 schools that have contracted with the Department of Education to meet certain performance targets in exchange for some autonomy in making curricular decisions. Nadelstern will speak for 15-20 minutes about “Lessons learned from school reforms in NYC and what can expect in the future.” He will take questions for 15-20 minutes, after which the principals will break down for round-table discussions on each of Nadelstern’s bullet points.
