Research Alliance seminar

The Research Alliance for New York City Schools is a non-partisan research center officially launched in November 2008 and based at NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development. Independent and with a mandate to produce and disseminate rigorous evidence about the state of public education in New York City, it will collaborate with the NYC DOE and other city stakeholders to identify important questions for research and to provide valid and reliable evidence that can inform policy and practice aimed at improving K-12 education. In this seminar, James Kemple, the Research Alliance’s inaugural Executive Director, will provide an overview of the organization’s mission and its early implementation challenges. Since the Research Alliance is still developing an inclusive process to specify its research agenda this, seminar will provide an occasion for discussing where that agenda currently stands and how it might evolve.
