Former J.H.S. 145 principal pleads guilty to stealing $24K from school

A former principal was arrested Thursday for the misappropriation of more than $20,000 of school funds, a year after he left the school.

Robert Hannibal, who led J.H.S. 145, also known as the Arturo Toscanini School, allegedly stole money from the the school’s general funds from 2010 through 2012, after depositing $5,000 of his own money, according to the Special Commissioner of Investigation. Overall, he took $29,344.55 from the school’s account.

Hannibal pled guilty to a felony of grand larceny Thursday morning and paid $21,080.83 in restitution, as well as an additional $5,000 fine.

David Mcintosh has led the school as acting principal since June 1, 2013.
